How to Change the Notifications Settings for Your Twilio Number
In this tutorial, you will learn how to configure notification settings for your Twilio number within Eazylio. These settings control when and how you receive notifications (SMS or Email) for incoming calls and messages.
Prerequisites
- An active Twilio account.
- An active Eazylio account.
- For SMS notifications, being allowed by Twilio to send SMS. Ensure the geography permission are enable in Twilio over here: Geo Permissions for Messaging.
- Your Twilio number must be Linked and Active with Eazylio. (For instructions on linking and activating your Twilio number, see: Linking Twilio Number)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Access Twilio Number Settings:
- Log in to your Eazylio account.
- Click on the Settings menu at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select Twilio Number Settings from the dropdown.
2. Find and Select Your Twilio Number:
- Browse through your list of Twilio numbers.
- Ensure that the Twilio number you wish to modify is Linked and Active.
- Click on the Twilio number to open its settings page.
3. Find the Notifications Settings:
- Scroll down to section (4) Notifications.
- Click on the Edit Settings button to modify the notification preferences.
4. Configure SMS and Email Notifications:
- These settings control when, where, and how notifications are sent when a call ends or an SMS is received by your Twilio number.
- You can choose to receive notifications via SMS or Email.
- If you leave any of the text boxes for numbers or email addresses empty, no notifications will be sent for that category.
- For SMS notifications, Twilio charges apply for sending each SMS message to its destination number.
- For SMS notifications, U.S. Twilio numbers must comply with Twilio regulations before they can send messages. See here for more details.
___(1) Insert numbers for SMS notifications for received calls:
- Enter phone numbers to receive SMS notifications when a call made to your Twilio number ends.
- You can insert multiple numbers by separating them with a comma (,).
- Example: +15551234567, +15557654321.

- Enter phone numbers to receive SMS notifications when a message is received by your Twilio number.
- You can insert multiple numbers by separating them with a comma (,).
- Example: +15551234567, +15557654321.
___(3) Insert email addresses for email notifications for received calls:
- Enter email addresses to receive email notifications when a call made to your Twilio number end.
- You can include multiple email addresses by separating them with a comma (,).
- To include addresses in BCC, enclose them in brackets [ ].
- Example: abc1@xyz.com, abc2@xyz.com, [abc3@xyz.com].

- Enter email addresses to receive email notifications when a message is received by your Twilio number.
- You can include multiple email addresses by separating them with a comma (,).
- To include addresses in BCC, enclose them in brackets [ ].
- Example: abc1@xyz.com, abc2@xyz.com, [abc3@xyz.com].
___(5) Show Call Duration:
- This option relates to SMS and Email notifications sent for received calls (it does not apply to received messages).
- It allows you to choose whether to show the duration of the call in the SMS and/or Email notifications.
- Check the respective checkboxes to show the call duration in SMS Notifications and/or Email Notifications.
- If you check the boxes and no duration is available, then the notification will include “Call duration not available“.
___(6) Show Call Recording Link:
- This option relates to SMS and Email notifications sent for received calls (it does not apply to received messages).
- It allows you to choose whether to include a link in the SMS and/or Email notifications, that would lead the person to a page that allows them to play and download the recording made for that call, if available.
- Check the respective checkboxes to include the call recording link in SMS Notifications and/or Email Notifications.
- If you check the boxes and you are not recording the incoming calls, or if no recording is made for a call as a result of no-answer, then the notification will include “Call recording not available“.
- Note: The recording link includes a unique string of letters and numbers that makes the URL lengthy. It may cause the SMS notification to incur extra cost as a result of that.
___(7) Timezone Used in Notifications:
- This allows you to set the timezone used for the timestamps in notifications.
- The selected timezone will reflect the time of the call or message relative to UTC (e.g., UTC-04:00).
- The default setting is UTC.
- Select the desired timezone from the dropdown list.
5. Save or Cancel Changes:
- Click Save Settings to apply your changes.
- If you click Cancel, the settings will revert to their previous state.
6. View and Test
- Once you click Save Settings, you will see the chosen settings on the page.
- It is highly recommended that you test the settings after saving them to ensure that they are working as intended.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting
- Unable to Receive SMS Notifications:
- Ensure that the phone numbers entered are in the correct international format.
- Check your Twilio account for SMS service limitations or restrictions.
- Notifications Not Being Sent to Email Addresses:
- Verify that the entered email addresses are correct.
- Check your spam/junk folder in case the emails are being filtered.
- Timezone Not Displaying Correctly:
- Double-check the selected timezone in the settings and ensure it reflects the desired time format.
